Drug lab busted

TWO people were arrested after police discovered a drug lab in a Cranbourne street last week.
Police executed a search warrant at a house in Bakewell Street on Tuesday 29 April, where they found a clandestine drug laboratory inside, used to cook amphetamine and methamphetamine.
The houses occupants, a 30-year-old man and 49-year-old woman, were arrested at the scene.
The man was charged and bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court, while the woman is still assisting police with their inquiries.
Detective Senior Constable Simon Watts urged people to keep an eye out for suspicious behaviour.
“We urge people to note unusual smells and sounds,” he said.
“This is a very dangerous practice what people are doing, particularly in high density, residential areas.
“Clan labs are very unpredictable in terms of explosions so we urge people to call Crime Stoppers if they suspect anything.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
