Get a peek at career direction

YOUNG people from across the region can get a taste of more than 40 careers under one roof at the South East Try a Trade and Careers Expo.
High school students, from years eight to 12 are invited to attend the fee event on Tuesday 29 April at the Cranbourne Turf Club.
The event run, by the South East Local Learning and Employment Network (SELLEN) in conjunction with the City of Casey, showcases a range of potential career paths for young people.
City of Casey Mayor Geoff Ablett said the exposition was a major event in secondary school calendars with more than 3000 students attending the event last year.
“The expo hosts more than 40 exhibitors from a range of industries, including trades such as carpentry, plumbing, bricklaying, hair and beauty and engineering,” he said.
“Students attending the expo will have the opportunity to talk to industry professionals about what each trade entails and job opportunities in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs.”
Representatives from local training organisations and universities will also be on hand to provide career advice and information on local training opportunities.
The exposition runs from 9am to 4pm on Tuesday 29 April.
