STAFF from a Hampton Park real estate agent visited a number of local schools recently to give back to the community which has given them so much.
The LJ Hooker Hampton Park staff visited Rivergum Primary School, Hampton Park Secondary College and St Kevin’s Primary School on Thursday 13 March to deliver cheques for $1250 to each school.
Director John Deo said it was their way of giving back.
“We decided to donate to schools as we wanted to give back to our community as the community has been good to us over the years and we thought the best way would be to help out the local schools,” he said.
“With the money we have said to the schools that we want them to use the money to help the kids and their education, but they can use the money where they see fit as it helps the schools as they don’t get enough funding every year.
“The whole sales team at LJ Hooker Hampton Park have contributed to this fabulous donation, our goal is to help the schools in any way we can.
“We are donating a total of $15,000 for 2014 and hope it helps the schools and kids.”
Rivergum Primary School principal Roma McKinnon thanked the business for its generous donation, and said the school’s Student Voice council decided how the money would be used to benefit the kids.
“The Student Voice met earlier in the week to discuss what the donation from LJ Hooker could be used for,” she said.
“At the meeting it was decided that the money would be used for new playground equipment for the school.”
