Employment vision

TWO developers struck a deal worth more than $6.5 million last week to bring to life a new business park in Cranbourne West.
MAB Corporation closed a deal with local developer The Tabak Group for the Thompson Base Business Park which will see it develop 16 lots ranging from 1000 square metres to 5700 square metres.
The business community will be located along Thompson Road, between Westernport Highway and South Gippsland Highway, and aims to attract businesses that service the people who live in the surrounding suburbs.
MAB general manager Richard Johnston said he welcomed the deal with The Tabak Group, which shared the vision of creating business communities that provide opportunities for employment close to home.
“Tabak is a local developer out of south-east Melbourne and has decades of experience building high quality, purpose-built facilities in varying sizes,” he said.
“They’re excited to be developing in the growing Cranbourne West market and enthusiastic about getting construction underway quickly to create employment opportunities in Cranbourne West.”
Mr Johnston said The Tabak Group was drawn to Thompsons Base by the opportunity to develop warehouse and office spaces in a facility that was committed to providing amenity for businesses close to home by attracting businesses such as gyms, cafes, medical services and food operators.
The site is zoned commercial two which allows businesses greater flexibility of use.
