HIGHVIEW Accounting Services is close to reaching its fundraising target for the Casey Relay For Life after putting their knowledge to the test with a trivia night last week.
The Cranbourne accounting firm hosted a trivia night on Thursday 20 February at the Cranbourne Turf Club to raise money for their relay team.
More than 170 people attended the event which raised a total of $6350, bringing the total to almost $10,000.
Highview marketing manager Brodie Crowther said it was a hugely successful night filled with fun, prizes and trivia.
“The community rallied together to support the cause,” he said.
“We had guests from the Cranbourne Cricket and Football Clubs and many local businesses.
“We are particularly grateful to the Cranbourne Turf Club for offering the venue free of charge and donating all the food.
“It was extremely humbling to see such generosity in the community when planning this fundraising event. It enabled every single cent raised to go directly to the cause.”
The Casey Relay For Life will be held at Akoonah Park in Berwick on 14 March.
Highview has 15 staff members taking part in the relay, where they will walk as a team for 24 hours.
“So many of us have been touched by cancer in some form or another – whether it be a personal battle or by helping a family member, friend or colleague through the fight,” said Highview Prahran director Simon Byers whose father lost his battle with cancer in 2012.
“The Relay For Life events are a great way to show support, and Highview is pleased to be able to make a positive impact in our communities.”
