On the anniversary of World War I, many of the mature oak trees that make up the Avenue of Honor in Narre Warren North are dead or dying.
Councillors of this ward over many years have done nothing to ensure senior staff at council adqueately protect these trees.
In recent years a developer parked heavy machinery and placed materials directly under the oak trees and council designed concrete footpath directly under the bases of the trees.
And surprise surprise, all involved will not admit their incompetence but are willing to walk away.
David McKenzie,
Narre Warren North.
