PERFECT weather, the thrill of hotted-up tractors and impressive trucks and cars pulled in a bumper crowd to the Tooradin Tractor Pull and Truck Show on the weekend.
About 5000 people packed Rutter Reserve on Saturday for the 16th annual event.
The feature of the event was the tractor pull, where drivers of super-modified tractors compete to pull a metal sled, which becomes heavier the further it is pulled, the furthest down the track.
Another highlight is the truck show, where some of the best rigs from around the country competed for the number of prizes.
Event president Peter McGrath said the day was a huge success.
“Despite the stress that the heat in the lead up to event caused us getting it set up, the weather on the day was perfect,” he said.
“It draws a huge crowd as it’s a great day out as there’s always something different going on throughout the day.
“We see not only tractor and truck enthusiast but also people who have never been to an event like this and want to check it out.
“We hope everyone had an enjoyable day.
“We thank all our sponsors, particularly major sponsor Hallam Truck Centre, as without them it would not be possible.”
All proceeds from the event go back into local clubs, schools and charities – but the final fundraising figure is not yet known.
