THE council is one step closer to granting a permit for a 24-hour service station and adjoining restaurant in Tooradin.
At a planning meeting last week, the councillors issued a Notice of Decision to grant of planning permit for the development of a service station and restaurant along the South Gippsland Highway on a number of stringent conditions to ensure it doesn’t affect the surrounding environment.
The proposal included a service station, with both car and truck filling dispensaries, and associated convenience store which will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The development will also include a restaurant called Café One with 60 indoor and 12 outdoor seats.
The development will be located at the site of the Tooradin Hotel and adjoining vacant land, with the hotel’s existing bottle shop to be demolished.
