HAMPTON Park resident Bianca Malvaso is one of 14 women whom Australia men have chosen to hang on their walls as part of a new swimsuit calendar for 2008.
The 21-year-old was voted by Ironman Magazine readers to be part of the Wet’n’Wild 2008 swimsuit calendar for Blitz Publications, set to launch in September.
Ms Malvaso, a budding model, spends much of her spare time sculpting her body at the local gym and is keen on pursuing modelling opportunities for sporting magazines.
“I love the runway (catwalk) but I’m too short so I want to get into sports and fitness modelling,” she said.
“I am pretty toned so I’d like to use that to my advantage, and I’d like to represent a sports brand if I am to continue modelling as a career path.”
She said the original field of competitors for the calendar was 200 girls.
“I thought I may have been chosen but only because there were a lot of blondes, and I was one of few brunettes.
“I’m just rapt to have gotten through.
“This is the first year Blitz called for public input (into selection) through the website.”
Ms Malvaso entered a modelling competition last year when a scout from the magazine spotted her and suggested she try out for the calendar.
By day, she works in administration in Melbourne, but one day readers may be seeing her on more than just a wall calendar.
“I only do it part time but I’d like to make my mark in the industry,” Ms Malvaso said.
“It’s a very competitive industry so hopefully the calendar gives me the right exposure.”
