Apply for project funds

LOCAL community groups have the chance to apply for grants of up to $1000 through The Hunt Club Community Fund.
Applications for the grants are now open to eligible groups in the Cranbourne area and will close on Friday 2 August at 5pm.
The Community Fund is an annual initiative of The Hunt Club estate project manager the Dennis Family Corporation which have donated more than $150,000 to local groups since its establishment 21 years ago.
Dennis Family Corporation chief executive Peter Levinge said the fund continued to assist a broad cross section of the community.
“We are proud that that our grants have helped make a wide variety of projects possible for people of all ages and we again encourage all eligible organisations and groups to apply for inclusion in this year’s funding,” he said.
Among last year’s recipients was the Cardinia-Casey Volunteer Branch of Make-A-Wish Australia.
Make-A-Wish Australia’s national manager volunteer services Joe Capozza said the grant was utilised to deliver a much-needed training workshop which was attended by members of the branch as well as volunteers from across Victoria and Tasmania.
“The training provided volunteers the opportunity to ensure that they feel confident and proficient in their ability to perform their roles in their local community, whether it be wish granting, raising much-needed funds through various means, or working to raise awareness of Make-A-Wish Australia,” he said.
“The grant funding also enabled us to produce and distribute a range of training materials to branch volunteers and to those who were unable to attend the workshop in person.”
This year local community groups can apply for grants of $500 or $1000 which will be assessed by an independent judging panel.
The fund’s eligibility criteria require all applicants to be not-for-profit groups which have been operating within the Cranbourne 3977 postcode area for a minimum of 12 months.
In order to be eligible for consideration for a grant, groups must complete an application form which can be obtained by visiting the Land Sales Office at 14 Broad Oak Drive, Cranbourne East, phoning 5996 7088 or online at www.huntclub.com.au.
