After 42 years, Ollie’s about to miss a beat

CRANBOURNE policing stalwart Ollie Gaspari will hang up his belt tomorrow (Friday) when he retires from 42 years on the beat.
Detective Senior Constable Gaspari will be sorely missed by his Cranbourne colleagues who are holding a farewell function at Cranbourne Race Course this week.
Detective Senior Constable Rod Maroney from Cranbourne CIU said the long-serving police officer was ‘part of the furniture’.
“He’s become a real legend around Cranbourne,” Det Sen Const Maroney said.
“He has had an amazing career at the police force and it is amazing to survive as long as he has in the police force and achieve such a high output in that time.
“He was very well-respected by all members. It is going to be strange not having the ‘old fossil’ around the office.”
