A PLAQUE has been dedicated to the work of The Factory steering group.
Casey mayor Colin Butler unveiled the plaque during the Casey Winter Arts official launch dinner in the Fountain Gate Hotel on Monday, 25 June.
He said the plaque would be displayed at the Factory as a permanent acknowledgment of hard work by the committee in bringing this project to fruition.
“We were proud to open The Factory — Rehearsal Centre for the Arts on 18 November 2006,” he said.
“The Factory is a dedicated, state-of-the-art rehearsal space built by the City of Casey in recognition of the growing needs of local performing arts groups.
“It provides three large rehearsal rooms and four practice rooms suitable for dance, theatre and music rehearsal.
“Since its opening, The Factory — Rehearsal Centre for the Arts has been well utilised by a broad section of the arts community, including amateur theatre companies, dance groups and community bands.
“The success of this $2.2million facility to date has been a testament to the foresight and perseverance of councillors, officers and community groups involved with the project, all of whom are to be congratulated,” he said.
