Play proves Peter shouldn’t panic

CASEY Grammar School students will take to the stage in a new musical production titled ‘Peter Panic’.
The Cranbourne East school’s production, which will be performed on Thursday 6 June at 7.30pm, plays homage to the original classic of Peter Pan, with a clever and refreshing twist.
The 21 students involved in the production have been given ownership and creative control over the entire show.
They have played a vital role in the construction of sets, costume and prop design, directional decisions and choreography.
“The students have had a firsthand look at all the work required behind the scenes in order to put on a show,” said Casey Grammar School drama coordinator Natalia Burns.
The story behind the production begins with Pam, president of the drama club, who decides to put on a huge production of Peter Pan in an attempt to save her beloved club.
However, Coach Rook has other plans as he attempts to sabotage the production due to cost cuts to his football program.
After many obstacles Pam pulls her production together with the help of star quarterback Tinkerman, who sacrifices everything so the show can go on.
“This show is full of heart and will remind both the young and young-at-heart to always follow their dreams,” said Ms Burns.
Tickets to the show will be available at the door on the night in the new Casey Grammar Performing Arts Centre.
