Council condoles with councillor

By BRIDGET SCOTT

CITY of Casey councillor Damien Rosario will be on bereavement leave until further notice, in the wake of a family death.
The council has offered its condolences to the River Gum Ward councillor, after the death of his newborn child, Amelia Catherine Elizabeth Rosario.
Baby Amelia was born on 27 April at 2.57pm and passed away. The funeral was held on Saturday 4 May.
A minute’s silence was held at the City of Casey Council meeting on 8 May in honour of baby Amelia, and mayor Amanda Stapledon extended her sincere condolences to Cr Rosario, his partner Renee and family.
“Words cannot express our sorrow for these two wonderful people, highly respected and esteemed fellow councillor, and his partner having to endure such grief and pain,” Cr Stapledon said.
“We extend our sincere condolences to them both, and will keep them in our thoughts and prayers.”
“(She was) born to two wonderfully devoted and loving parents, and departed from them, and us, all too soon.”
