HALF a car was found stripped and set on fire in Cranbourne last week.
Police are trying to work out what happened to the second half of the car after the front half was dumped on Cemetery Road on Monday 11 June and found alight about 5pm. The fire brigade was called and found evidence of accelerants used to light the fire. It is not known who owns the Holden sedan because there were no identifying features. Police said it appeared an angle grinder had been used to cut the car in half.

Vision One Glasses at Centro Cranbourne Shopping Centre was broken into between midnight and 5am on Tuesday, 12 June.
A front glass window was smashed and the front door lock forced.
The thieves then smashed four glass cabinets and stole 150 pairs of designer sunglasses. Police believe a hammer found in the shop was used to smash the cabinets.
Police are reviewing video footage and have asked that anyone offered cheap designer sunglasses to report the incident to police.

A DESCRIPTION has been given of a man who robbed an elderly woman outside the Hampton Park Shopping Centre recently. A 71-year-old Hampton Park woman was walking across the carpark to the Coles supermarket about 6.15pm on 7 June when a man threatened her with a knife and demanded she hand over her purse. He had held a handkerchief over his mouth during the armed robbery but was later seen running along Stuart Street with his face uncovered.
The man was described as 40 to 50, Caucasian, with fair skin, a goatee, light brown hair, of medium build and wearing blue pants, a black beanie and orange fluorescent work safety shirt.

A PIZZA restaurant in Cranbourne North was broken into last week.
La Porchetta at the Thompson Parkway Shopping Centre on the corner of the South Gippsland Highway and Thompsons Road was robbed between 9pm on 11 June and 5am on 12 June. Police said the rear door was forced and a wall-mounted safe stolen, which contained a large quantity of cash.
Police said the safe was heavy and two people would have been needed to carry it, and a car must have been involved.

A SAFE was stolen from the Ron Whitney Pharmacy in Pearcedale over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend.
Some time between 1pm on 9 June and 9am on 12 June, offenders cut away the bottom half of the door and gained access to the rear of the property.
They then stole a safe containing drugs and cash from the Peryman Street pharmacy. It was bolted to the floor and measured 60cm high by 46cm by 46cm. Police said it appeared the alarm had been tampered with.

CRANBOURNE Police have interviewed 27 people in the last week over a variety of local crimes.
These include theft, domestic violence, arrest warrants, drink driving, possession of drugs, assault, theft of number plates and firearm offences.
