At home for fundraiser

THE charity auction house in Clyde for the Good Friday Appeal has been completed and is now open for inspection.
Henley and Villawood Properties have joined again this year and donated a complete house and land package to auction for The Royal Children’s Hospital’s Good Friday Appeal.
Located within Villawood’s Pasadena community in Clyde, the double-storey Sahara Q2 home has been designed by Henley.
The home will go under the hammer at a no-reserve auction to be held at 3pm on Good Friday, 29 March, with all proceeds from the sale going to the Good Friday Appeal.
Henley’s philanthropy manager Nicole Nightingale said the company was thrilled to be celebrating its 20th year supporting the Good Friday Appeal’s charity auction.
“Henley’s tradespeople, suppliers and staff have come together once again to contribute to this wonderful cause,” she said.
“Without their tireless efforts, the auction would just not be possible.
“Villawood Properties joint executive director Rory Costelloe said The Royal Children’s Hospital held a special place in many employees’ hearts.
“Many Victorians, including myself and other Villawood employees, have had children or relatives treated at The Royal Children’s Hospital at some point in their lives.
“It’s an iconic hospital that does so much for our community so we are honoured to be able to give back via the Charity Auction House initiative,” he said.
“Villawood is a proud supporter of The Royal Children’s Hospital and we can’t wait to see this beautiful home at Pasadena go under the hammer later this month.”
Last year’s auction raised $605,000 for the appeal, bringing the total amount donated to the cause since the initiative’s inception up to $10.8million.
To date, Henley has built and donated 33 homes to the Good Friday Appeal, with Villawood joining forces as land partner in 2010.
The home, located at 71 Green Gully Road, Clyde, is open for inspection on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 2pm and Wednesday from 6pm to 7pm.
A free family fun day will be held at Pasadena on Good Friday from 1pm to 4pm to help celebrate which will include a coffee cart, hot cross buns, face painters, jumping castle and barbecue.
The auction will be filmed as part of Channel Seven’s live telecast at 3pm.
