THE Casey community will be treated to a silver-screen experience this Friday with a fundraiser under the stars.
Botanic Ridge estate will host a moonlit cinema event on Friday night from 6pm to raise money for Cranbourne South Primary School.
The event will include a visit from the Easter Bunny, family-friendly activities and a screening of the recent Oscar-winning animated film Brave at 7.30pm.
Cranbourne South Primary School principal Joseph Kelly said the event would greatly assist in funding the school’s popular extra-curricular lively learning programs.
“With Botanic Ridge becoming increasingly popular among families with young children, our school population is increasing considerably with 66 Prep students enrolling with us this year,” he said.
“Thanks to the generosity of Botanic Ridge estate, the moonlit cinema is a great opportunity for us to fundraise for the school while also engaging with families outside of the classroom and providing a special treat for students and parents.”
The estate’s development manager Joe Cassera said with more than 2000 families already calling the suburb home, the locality had been quickly identified by families as an ideal location to raise children.
“Schools like Cranbourne South Primary offer incredible convenience and access to the parents of this estate so we are only too happy to extend a helpful hand to the school in order to help fundraise for their many great programs,” he said.
The fundraiser will take place at Botanic Ridge Park, on the corner of Botanic Ridge Boulevard and Silverthorn Way.
With discount cold drinks and hot jam donuts available, cinema-goers are encouraged to donate a gold coin on entry and to wrap up warm and bring their picnic rugs, blankets and low-rise beach chairs to the evening’s activities.
