YOUNG people who need advice or support are encouraged to access youth information centres scattered throughout the City of Casey.
Unbeknown to many, there are three centres located in the city, including one in Hampton Park, another in Cranbourne and another with no fixed location – a mobile youth centre called Casey 360.
City of Casey Mayor Amanda Stapledon said the centres provide young people with advice in regards to both working and studying.
“The youth information centres provides information, referral and support for young people aged 10-25, working or studying in the City of Casey,” Cr Stapledon said.
“Young people visit the centres for a number of reasons, but are often seeking advice about school or education opportunities, mental health, and wellbeing concerns, or employment and job seeking tips.”
She said the centres have always attracted a big crowd.
“Up to 2000 people visit the centres each month to participate in a variety of fun activities and to connect with people their own age and in their own environment,” Cr Stapledon said.
The Hampton Park Youth Information centre is now open Mondays, as well as Tuesday to Friday from 1.30pm until 5.15pm.
Hampton Park Youth Information Centre is located at 22-26 Stuart Avenue, Hampton Park.
