Service will help kids re-engage

A NEW support service has been launched to help local youth who are unemployed and not involved in education re-engage.
The Youth Transport Support Initiative (YTSI) was launched by Lyndhurst MP Tim Holding last Friday.
It will be delivered by the Cranbourne-based Taskforce Community Agency for young people in the south-east suburbs.
The YTSI has two transition support workers who will give personalised support to young people aged between 15 and 19 years old, who have not completed year 12 or its equivalent, to access training and job opportunities. “This new program, the YTSI, spans the cities of Greater Dandenong and Casey,” Mr Holding said.
“This initiative will offer young people in our local area, who are not in school or paid employment, the opportunity to develop meaningful skills.
“This will enhance their chances of reaching full potential.”
Cranbourne MP Jude Perera said many local parents were excited about the new service.
“They want their kids to have an opportunity to gain skills and access employment. The YTSI is able to facilitate this,” he said.
