Library launches English self-help kits

HAMPTON Park Library is launching kits to help adults improve their English skills as part of Library and Information Week.
Linking people with ideas is the theme for the week, which runs 21-27 May.
Hampton Park Library senior officer Carol Bathie said linking people with ideas was a vital commitment to promoting free access to information and helping everyone achieve their life-long learning goals.
“There are many reasons why some English-speaking people may not have been able to develop their reading skills, or they may be migrants,” she said.
The library this week launched a new collection of Basic English readers and kits to help people develop their skills.
A morning tea was to be held to celebrate the launch with members of the Hampton Park Community House English as a Second Language class today (Thursday) at 10.30am.
Visit the library at 22-26 Stuart Avenue, Hampton Park or call 9704 7696 for more details.
