THIEVES stole paint and later dumped it in Hampton Park on the weekend.
The owner of a house on Garfield Court heard a smash outside at about 6.15pm on Saturday and saw a bottle smashed on the patio and a person jumping the rear fence.
They then discovered the shed in the backyard had been ransacked and three paint tins stolen.
The police canine unit attended and attempted to track the thief with no luck.
The paint tins were later found in a playground behind the property.
Police believed they may have been used for sniffing.
