Workmates’ houses burgled on the same day

THE houses of two Hampton Park workmates were burgled on the same day.
Police said the robberies, which took place last Friday, appeared to be related.
They said the burglaries were reported separately and it was only after the men, who work for the same company in Dandenong, were talking that they notified police about the coincidence.
In one incident, a house was broken into on Stuart Avenue between 6.15am and 8pm. The front security door was forced open and the house ransacked, with drawers and cupboards opened.
It is not known at this stage what or if anything was stolen.
In the other incident, a house in Cairns Road was burgled between 6am and 3pm.
The front door was kicked in and the house ransacked. A television, set top box and miniature alcohol bottles were stolen from the lounge. Tobacco and liquid soap was taken from the kitchen.
The house was burgled a month ago in similar circumstances.
Cranbourne Police said they were investigating the burglaries as related as they had occurred on the same day in similar locations and to people who knew each other.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Senior Constable David Measham at Cranbourne CIU on 5991 0661 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
