SHOCKED passers-by called the CFA after seeing a car in flames in Lyndhurst last week.
The call reported a car had rolled over at the intersection of Bayliss and Taylor roads on Tuesday, 17 April before 11pm, possibly with people trapped in the burning car.
When emergency services arrived they discovered no one was in the car.
Instead, it appeared the car had been stolen and then dumped and set alight along Bayliss Road.
Dandenong Rescue and Carrum Downs Fire Brigade were called to control the blaze.
Police and paramedics also attended the incident.
