Men applauded for brave actions

THREE brave men who rescued a man after his car rolled and caught fire in Cranbourne on Friday have been applauded by police and witnesses.
Police have urged the men to come forward after they pulled the Hallam man from the burning wreckage and left after ambulance officers arrived.
Police said the driver was travelling south towards Cranbourne on the South Gippsland Highway when his Holden Commodore passed onto the wrong side of the road before coming back over the median strip, causing the car to roll.
It is believed he suffered from a medical condition, which caused him to veer the car.
The crash happened about 11am, 150 metres south of Huon Park Road.
A witness who was at the scene said the three men deserved to be acknowledged for their brave actions.
“They saved his life,” the woman said.
She said the men came through the driver’s and passenger side doors to free the man from the car after it caught alight.
They then left when the man was taken to hospital by ambulance.
There was no-one else involved in the crash.
Witnesses are urged to contact Senior Constable Roberts at Pakenham Police on 5945 2500.
