Children turned up dressed as their favourite story book character for a mad tea of fairy bread and cordial.
About 40 children listened to stories and songs and made their own hats before converging on the afternoon tea.
Children’s librarian Moira Eveleens, who looked the part at more than seven months pregnant wearing Easter Bunny ears and a clock around her neck, said the children had an absolute ball.
“It was very joyous with lots of giggling and noise. It was really great,” she said.
The children made Mad Hatter hats with coloured paper, streamers, stickers, colours and crayons.
