Porky eyes rematch

CRANBOURNE boxer Daniel ‘Porky’ Lovett will fight Queenslander Les Sherrington for the Australian Supermiddleweight Title in July before a much-anticipated re-match with Nader Hamdan.
Lovett’s trainer Jim Slatter is eager to see him in action to see whether he has developed.
“After the Nader Hamdan fight, we want to see what he took away from it,” Slatter said.
“He learned a heck of a lot from that fight and looking back at the DVD, we thought we had the decision.”
As ever, Slatter will carry a quiet confidence into the Sherrington bout.
“I think Porky will be too strong for him, but it’s a good, even fight,” he said.
