Two killed as car slams into semi

TWO men were killed and another injured in Five Ways on Saturday when their car went underneath a semi-trailer.
Blind Bight’s Ricardo Inverno, 28, and another man, 27, whose name has not been released, died in the collision.
A 21-year-old Pakenham man was taken to The Alfred hospital with minor injuries.
The truck driver, a 41-year-old Thomastown man, was not injured during the incident but was later treated for shock at Casey Hospital.
Senior Sergeant Bernie Kaminski from Cranbourne CIU said the collision happened about 4am when the front section of the car went under the B-double sand truck.
The truck was making a right-hand turn at Clyde-Five Ways Road at the time.
The driver of the Holden Club Sport and the front seat passenger were killed.
Sen Sgt Kaminski said the other passenger, who was sitting behind the driver, was lucky to be alive.
He said the passenger would have been killed if seated anywhere else in the car.
The man had to be cut out of the vehicle.
Sen Sgt Kaminski said it appeared speed was a factor in the collision.
Emergency crews and police from the Major Collision Investigation Unit were on hand for several hours.
The scene was not cleared until 2pm.
The fatal collision has sent a shockwave through the local community.
Mr Inverno, who was married, has been described by friends as a popular, fun-loving man with a personality “larger than life and a laugh that no one could ever forget”.
A 70-year-old Drouin woman was killed in a separate incident in Warragul on Saturday morning.
