Bi-Lo switching to Coles

BI-LO’s Hampton Park store will close its doors next week to make way for a new Coles supermarket.
The store is one of many Bi-Lo supermarkets to be swallowed up by the more popular brand name after retail giant Coles-Myer decided to reinvent itself.
The decision meant Coles and its subsidiaries Kmart, Liquorland, Coles Express, and Bi-Lo would be amalgamated under the one name of the Coles Group in an effort to surpass number one retailer Woolworths.
Hampton Park store manager Joel Murphy said the change of name and products would not stop the store from offering value to customers.
“We will be ensuring our customers get the best of Bi-Lo and the best of Coles through the conversion,” Mr Murphy said.
“ We see it as an opportunity to deliver even better value and choice for our customers.”
The new Coles store would retain a number of low-cost Bi-Lo products, including the ‘budget’ meat range.
It will also offer 4000 additional product lines.
Mr Murphy said the store would close for seven days to allow for the changes and the final touches would be completed in the first few days of trading.
He said to celebrate the new store opening, the supermarket would hold an opening sale with various specials and offers.
Hampton Park Bi-Lo, at the Hampton Park Food Market on Hallam Rd, will close at 6pm this Sunday and open for trade as Coles at 8am on Monday, 19 February.
