Golf day for new services

CRANBOURNE businesses turned out in their tartan last week to show their support for a local specialist health care provider.
Cranbourne-based South East Palliative Care (SEPC) held its inaugural golf day and dinner last Monday, 27 November to raise money for new services.
SEPC community development manager Warren Duncan said the day was a great success owing to a groundswell of support from a wide range of people who turned out at The Sandhurst Club in Skye.
Mr Duncan said about 65 golfers and 110 diners enjoyed the day, which included an auction to raise funds to pay for the provision of new services such as music therapy for patients and to support new staff positions which are crucial to providing a higher standard of service.
“As a not-for-profit body, we are dependent upon strong community support to be able to continue to provide a wide range of palliative care services in the homes of patients and their families when they are most in need of help from our team of nurses, counsellors, specialists and volunteers from the region,” he said.
Businesses which offered their support on the day included Castello’s Berwick Springs Hotel, Tobin Brothers, Kelly’s Hotel of Cranbourne, South Gippsland Jewellers, Subaru of Fountain Gate, the National Australia Bank, Moorabbin Timber and Mitre 10, Trios of Cranbourne and Ryan Carlisle Thomas of Cranbourne.
