Visit for cultural exchange

CRANBOURNE South Primary School students were treated to a cultural exchange on Monday when children from the Kaltjiti Aboriginal community in South Australia visited.
The 25 students, ranging from eight to 12 years old, were from the Fregon Anangu School in the far north-west of South Australia.
Their visit to the school, with two teachers and four education workers, was one of many events during their one-week trip to Victoria.
Cranbourne South Primary School principal Joseph Kelly said both schools performed for the other in an attempt to share their cultures. The Cranbourne South students put on a show from their performing arts song, dance and circus groups. The Fregon school students performed an emu dance and were accompanied by music and singing by community elders.
“The visit was a unique opportunity for students from both schools to engage in an exchange of ideas, experiences and friendship,” Mr Kelly said.
