CHRISTMAS is making an early appearance at Cranbourne estate The Hunt Club.
Residents are being asked to decorate their houses in the spirit of Christmas for the annual Christmas Lights competition.
Dennis Family Corporation marketing manager Christine Walker said the competition would be a great way for people to show their community and festive season spirit.
With cash prizes on offer, it is also a chance to top up the Christmas budget.
The public are invited to The Hunt Club to see the light displays once they are up and running.
“Homes will be lit until 10pm to give people plenty of time to come and look and soak up the community spirit,” Ms Walker said.
Displays may be a combination of Christmas lights and decorations, with homes to be judged by a three-member panel.
“Homes will be assessed on the basis of first impressions, creativity, use of colour, special effects and Christmas themes,” Ms Walker said.
The winners of the competition will be announced at The Hunt Club Residents Christmas Party on Saturday, 9 December in The Hunt Club Gardens, Hunt Club Boulevard, Cranbourne.
First prize is $500, second prize $250 and third prize $100.
Winners of the Best Group Display will nominate a registered charitable organisation as the beneficiary of a $500 cash prize.
