Warneet welcomes its new pavilion

Warneet Recreation Reserve president Andrew Dolan welcomes the opening of the long-awaited pavilion. Warneet Recreation Reserve president Andrew Dolan welcomes the opening of the long-awaited pavilion.

A NEW pavilion has been officially opened at the Warneet Recreation Reserve this week as a result of much lobbying from the Warneet community.
Casey mayor Kevin Bradford officially opened the Warneet pavilion on Monday to celebration from the reserve committee and locals.
Cr Bradford said he hoped the new facility would help sporting teams and the broader community make better use of the recreation reserve.
“The Warneet community has called for this pavilion for some time, and thanks to their efforts and their partnership with both local and State Government this goal has now been achieved,” he said.
The pavilion was funded through a $50,000 Sport and Recreation Victoria grant and a council contribution of $100,000.
It will provide those who use the reserve, including tennis and cricket teams, the VicKick group and picnickers, with a pavilion with a fully functional kitchen as well as toilets and showers.
Cr Bradford congratulated the Warneet Recreation Reserve committee of management for their involvement in maintaining and running the facilities.
“This project is also a credit to the efforts of the community committees across Casey that put such a great deal of effort every week into organising sport for our residents,” he said.
