EMPLOYMENT agency WISE Employment officially opened its first Casey office last Thursday.
Department of Employment and Workplace Relations representatives, Casey councillors, employers, job seekers and industry officials got together to celebrate the launch of the new Cranbourne office.
The not-for-profit company aims to help people struggling to find work.
Cranbourne WISE site manager Nick McConachy said the event went well, launched by Casey deputy mayor Rob Wilson and mayor Kevin Bradford.
The event was catered by William Angliss students from the Youth Pathways Program run by Phil Sealey, and Mr McConachy said the guests were impressed by the food and service.
Mr McConachy said the agency not only helped find local people work, but also employed experienced local people as staff.
Cr Wilson said the organisation was an important aspect in the development of Casey and the growth of the region.
WISE Employment is also sponsoring the Ozzie Cricket program, developed by Cranbourne Cricket Club, helping young people with a disability take part in cricket clinics.
The company officially handed over the sponsorship cheque to the cricket club at the launch.
Mr McConachy said the establishment of the Cranbourne office would be of great benefit for anyone facing some form of hardship in getting back into work.
Among those WISE assists in finding work are people with a criminal record, single parents and people who have a form of disability.
And local businesses are also set to benefit, with WISE looking to develop strong relationships to make sure clients are placed within the appropriate organisations.
Anyone wanting more information about WISE Employment, whether looking for work or a potential employer, can visit the Cranbourne office at 7-9 Bakewell Street or call 5996 3511.
