THIEVES climbed into the roof of a Cranbourne house last week to steal the ducted heating system.
The Majestic Boulevard building was under construction and in the lock-up stage when the unit, worth $1200, was stolen.
Police said thieves entered the property through the roof and removed the heating system, which was located in the roof cavity.
In attempting to remove the unit they also damaged a pipe connection system.
The theft happened between 6pm on Thursday, 26 October and 6.30am last Friday, 27 October.
Police said it was not the first ducted heating theft in the area.
A ducted heating unit was also stolen from the premises next door about two weeks ago.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Sergeant Larry Grimshaw at Cranbourne CIU on 5991 0661.
