Emily reigns supreme in the fashion stakes

THE action was just as hot off the track at the Cranbourne Cup last Sunday with more than 60 women and children entering the Fashions on the Field event.
Big hats, stylish colours and matching accessories were all the rage on the runway as contestants strutted their stuff to the delight of the crowd.
Kilmore resident Emily Raye caught the eye of the judges and won first place with her Harry Who designed outfit and Louise Macdonald inspired hat.
Debra Stanfield was judged second best with a black and red combination while Cranbourne’s Sarah Johnson came in third and looked great in a black Zimmerman number.
Emily, who rides track-work and straps horses for a living, said she was thrilled to win the event and take home $7500 of prizes for her efforts.
The seasoned fashion on the field entrant travelled to many racetracks throughout country Victoria over the last 18 months and took out several accolades.
“I won the Kilmore Cup event earlier this year and the Kyneton Cup last year,” Emily said.
The 30-year-old also made the final at the Cox Plate fashions on the field at Moonee Valley and is hoping to take several more events over the Spring Carnival by storm.
