POLICE have cautioned three teenagers after an attempted arson attack on Cannons Creek Hall.
A call from a local Neighbourhood Watch resident resulted in police interviewing the three teenagers about the suspicious fire.
A 15 and 16-year-old Cannons Creek boy and a 13-year-old Bayswater girl have been officially cautioned and police plan to interview a second 15-year-old Cannons Creek boy who they believe was also involved.
CFA crews first discovered the burnt newspaper surrounding the hall on the 20 August.
Senior Sergeant Bernie Kaminski said the current high level of fire danger meant it was fortunate there was no major damage caused to the hall and surrounding Bonnie Watson Bushland Reserve.
“No permanent damage was caused from the fire,” Sen Sgt Kaminski said.
He said official warnings were regularly used for young people involved in crime for the first time.
