ST PETER’S College will host its first 10-year reunion next week.
The Cranbourne college opened in 1994, with the first group of year 12s graduating in 1996. Deputy principal Regina Rowan said the staff and former students were excited about seeing everyone again.
“The response has been very good. It’s been really lovely actually,” Ms Rowan said.
“It’s nice to talk to the students when they ring in. I think they’re quite excited.”
Ms Rowan said 1996 was her first year at the school as well, so it was a double celebration for her.
The reunion has been organised by a 1996 graduating student James Lawlor and president of the Graduates’ Association Louise Schultze.
Ms Rowan said a tour of the school would also be part of the night’s festivities.
“Some of the students still live in the area so they might see each other,” she said.
“But others have moved away and they’re keen to see the school as well. There’s been a fair bit of building since then.”
She said she was looking forward to seeing some of the old teachers who were coming.
“It will be good to catch up with some old friends,” she said.
The reunion starts from 5.30pm on 9 September at the St Peter’s College Hall, Navarre Drive entrance. For information contact James Lawlor on (02) 9360 7532.
