DEVON Meadows Primary School was a sea of colour and costumes on Monday when students dressed up as their favourite book characters.
This week’s Literacy Week celebrations began with a dressup parade, featuring the likes of the Little Mermaid, Where’s Wally, Robin Hood and Storm Troopers.
Teacher Amber Crawford said literacy was a big priority at the school and both staff and students threw themselves into the weeklong activities.
“Other activities happening through the week are a book fair which runs over four days,” she said.
“We also have a magician performing two shows on the magic of reading.
“Everyone is supportive of the week’s activities,” she said.
