THE streets of Hampton Park were alive last week with the sound of River Gum Primary School’s music.
Students rocked the shops dressed as their favourite rock stars on Thursday as part of Literacy Week celebrations.
The day began with a parade to mark the ‘Rockin’ Reading’ theme of Literacy Week before students took to the streets to promote their upcoming school concert.
The street walk was just one of the many activities held during the week, including a book fair to raise money to buy new books for the school library.
Teacher Sam Sharkey said the students were extremely excited about Literacy Week and enjoyed a fantastic dressup day.
