CHRISTMAS will come early for 200 lucky Cranbourne kids.
Former AFL football legend Glenn Manton, along with the help of Santa, will hand out 200 footy packs as part of a Christmas in July in Cranbourne.
Mr Manton is well known for his work with White Lion, a non-profit organisation that works in the juvenile justice system.
Cranbourne MP Jude Perera said it was great to see Cranbourne children rewarded.
“I am continually advocating for our young people in Cranbourne,” he said. “Our young people are our future.”
The football packs, donated by the AFL, include a football, water bottle, football cap, handbook, football books, hooded poncho, and AFL backpack. Local children under 12 can come along to the Christmas in July handing out of footy packs on Saturday, 8 July between 10am and 12pm at the Casey Café at 65 Berwick-Cranbourne Road, Cranbourne.
One lucky fanatical Bulldogs supporter will also have the chance to win an Adult Season Membership to the Western Bulldogs Football Club.
There will also be a sausage sizzle.
Casey councillor Steve Beardon asked if parents could drop a donation into the Uniting Church donation box, or buy a sausage.
All money raised will go to assisting the church volunteers.
Cr Beardon also asked that parents with a health care card take precedence.
