Crash wrecks light pole

TWO cars collided and knocked over a traffic light pole at a trouble intersection in Hampton Park on Sunday night.
Traffic was banked up after the crash at 8.15pm on the corner of Hallam and Fordholm Roads.
Police said one car was travelling straight along Hallam Road when another car turned right from Coral Drive, colliding with the first.
The driver of the second car, a 37-year-old Lynbrook man, was interviewed in relation to failing to obey a red light and other traffic matters.
The passenger in the car, a 39-year-old Narre Warren man, was not injured.
The driver of the first car, a 28-year-old Carnegie woman, was also unharmed.
Tim Chung, manager of a nearby restaurant, said he had seen at least one accident per month at that intersection since he had been in the country.
Mr Chung said he had seen more than 10 accidents on his way to work on Hallam Road.
He said a speed camera should be installed at the intersection to stop speeding motorists.
He said the problem was worse at night when he had seen many drivers driving dangerously along Hallam Road.
