Kitted out for a sea adventure

SCHOOL children will benefit from a new coastal action kit designed to help them learn about creatures on the foreshore.
The kit was launched at Tooradin Primary School last week to coincide with World Ocean Day.
Steve Foster, grade five and six coordinator at Tooradin Primary School, said teachers at the school had been active in getting the students involved with land care and tree planting.
Mr Foster said a big part of the students’ learning was identifying creatures at the inlet and foreshore.
Members from the Coastal Action Coastal Care group demonstrated the kit, which includes a CD, resource activities and information about the marine and coastal area to the grade four, five and six students.
The kit will be sent to 1600 schools in Victoria.
