TWO Cranbourne food stores on the same street were targeted within a day of each other last week.
The burglaries of both the local milk bar and a takeaway shop on Gordon Street have prompted Cranbourne police to heed warnings to shop owners.
The milk bar was broken into between 4pm on 25 May and 5am on 26 May.
Police said the owner noticed that the alarm had been activated and the bracket on the front roller door had been cut off.
The cash register had been opened and cash was missing from the register.
A day earlier, a nearby takeaway shop was also broken into.
Police said the offenders cut two padlocks used to secure the roller door between 6pm on 24 May and 5am on 25 May.
Once inside the roller door, they opened the unlocked front door and stole the cash float from the bench.
Anyone with information about either of the incidents should contact Cranbourne CIU on 5995 4577.
