Charity tea takes the cake

By Sarah Schwager
A CRANBOURNE health centre decided to help raise money for those in need by participating in Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea last week.
Cranbourne Integrated Care, part of Southern Health, raised $161 for the Anti Cancer Council in just one hour last Thursday.
Recently opened Zouki’s Cafe provided the venue for the morning tea, while staff donated the cakes.
The cafe also donated 40 cents for every coffee bought during the hour.
Ayla Sahin, who organised the event and who works at Cranbourne Integrated Care, said the morning tea had been very successful, with more than 100 people coming along.
“Being hospital-based ourselves, we know how hard it is to be unwell,” Ms Sahin said. She said she had been very impressed by the turnout and how eager staff and clients had been to donate money to the cause.
Cranbourne Integrated Care offers a range of health and support services and is located at 140-154 Sladen Street in Cranbourne.
