Casey Residents and Ratepayer Association welcomes elected mayor and deputy mayor

Casey Residents and Ratepayer Association (CRRA) welcomes the election of the Waratah Ward councillor Stefan Koomen as mayor and Kalora Ward councillor Melinda Ambros as deputy mayor for Casey.

Cr. Koomen and Cr. Ambros were elected uncontested as mayor and deputy mayor at a Special Purpose meeting of Casey on Tuesday 19 November.

President of CRRA Brian Oates congratulated mayor Koomen and deputy mayor Ambros on their election.

“On behalf of our members and committee, I would like to congratulate Cr. Koomen and Cr. Ambros on their election as mayor and deputy mayor,” he said.

“This is a significant and momentous time for the City of Casey with the return of democratically elected representatives after being in administration for four years after the dismissal of the council in 2020.

“Our residents need and deserve genuine, trustworthy leadership acting in their best interests.

“We look forward to working collaboratively with the new council, mayor and deputy mayor on behalf of Casey residents to ensure value for money with our rates, transparency and accountability for the decisions the council make that impact our community.”
