Cranbourne women charged as part of Echo Taskforce

Detectives from the Echo Taskforce have charged four people as part of an investigation into conspiracy offences linked to the Comanchero Outlaw Motor Cycle Gang (OMCG).

A 45-year-old Cranbourne North woman and a 43-year-old Lysterfield man and were arrested on 18 November and subsequently charged with conspiracy to dishonestly cause a loss to the commonwealth.

Both were bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 23 November.

The Australian Federal Police National Anti Gangs Squad also arrested a 58-year-old Mount Martha man in Queensland.

He has also been charged with conspiracy to dishonestly cause a loss to the Commonwealth.

The man appeared at Maroochydore Magistrates’ Court where he was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 30 November.

A 64-year-old Kew man was arrested and has also been charged with conspiracy to dishonestly cause a loss to the Commonwealth.

He was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 23 November.

These arrests form part of an ongoing investigation into business enterprises and services linked to the Comanchero OMCG.

The investigation was initially commenced more than three years ago and involved a significant number of warrants across Melbourne on 21 March, 2018.

Police will allege between 2014 and 2018, the four people charged hid assets to avoid a tax debt.
