The names of two new Clyde schools have been revealed, ahead of their opening next year.

Bass MP Jordan Crugnale and Cranbourne MP Pauline Richards announced the successful names of the two new schools, which will open in 2022, on Monday 12 July.

The names were chosen in collaboration with the community and Geographic Names Victoria.

Criteria included elements of public interest, relevance to the local area, and the consideration of local Indigenous languages.

The new school names are:

 Clyde Creek Primary School (formerly Clyde North Station Primary School)

 Clyde Secondary College (formerly Clyde North Station Secondary College)

“I’m proud to announce the name for these two new schools in Clyde and thank those that engaged with the selection process,” Ms Crugnale said.

Ms Richards added: “This announcement should signal to local families that they are yet another step closer to getting the great new local school – and the first-class education – they deserve.”
