Man dies after Monash collision

A man has died after a crash on the Monash Freeway in Endeavour Hills.

The collision happened in the afternoon of Wednesday 10 February.

Investigators were told a car was involved in a minor collision with a second car on the Monash Freeway followed immediately by a second collision with a truck at about 4pm.

The yet-to-be-identified driver of the car sadly died at the scene.

The drivers of the second car and truck were uninjured in the incident.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson confirmed that one person was assessed at the scene but was not taken to hospital.

Fourteen FRV firefighters including specialist rescue and Hazmat crews also attended the incident.

The collision forced the closure of the Monash Freeway outbound during the afternoon peak. All lanes were reopened by 8.30pm.
