Couple wanted over fake relief request

A couple who racked up over $10,000 worth of vouchers from a Cranbourne crisis support centre are being sought by police.

Victoria Police are seeking assistance from the public to help identify a man and a woman who allegedly obtained property by deception from July to September 2020.

Over the three month period, the duo contacted the support centre under various fake names, phone numbers, and addresses to request emergency relief vouchers.

Police say the alleged offenders have used more than $7,000 worth of the vouchers vouchers across Broadmeadows, Deer Park, and Airport West.

According to CCTV footage released by Crime Stoppers, the man is perceived to be Middle Eastern in appearance with short dark hair.

The female accomplice is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance with long brown hair.
