Shape your future

Casey Council has launched a new engagement program, ensuring diverse voices of the community are reflected in future council decisions.

Through the ‘Shape Your City’ engagement program residents will have a chance to discuss and deliberate on decisions about infrastructure and service delivery in Casey, from parks and playgrounds, to the arts, community services, local road projects and more.

Casey chair of administrators Noelene Duff said the launch of this engagement program will see council take another proactive step towards involving our residents in decision making.

“Shape Your City demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that our communities voices are heard,” Ms Duff said.

“Despite being unable to consult with our residents face-to-face, we will have several virtual options available for people to provide feedback, attend information sessions and participate in activities, to ensure a large breadth of feedback is received.

“This feedback will make a significant impact to the future of the city and ensure that our planning best reflects the priorities of our community.”

Ms Duff also added that council understood that residents would want to know how their voice is included in their decisions, and is committed to being open and transparent about what they hear and how they respond.

“Regular updates on how the voices of our community are being used to Shape Your City will be available via our online engagement platform, Casey Conversations, and through Council’s website, newsletter, and social media pages,” Ms Duff said.

You can Shape Your City by:

• Posting your ideas, feedback and joining the conversation on Casey Conversations

• Participating in one of our online workshops

• Hosting a conversation with your friends, family, colleagues or networks and sending the outcomes to us

• Getting involved in our youth and/or family activities

To find out more about these opportunities, join the Shape Your City Webinar on Monday 21 September at 4pm or 7.30pm. To register, visit: https://conversations.casey.vic.gov.au/shape-your-city

Casey Council said it understands that not all community members can participate in online activities, so as restrictions change over the coming months, they will explore alternative ways to hear residents’ ideas.

Council officers will also be contacting residents without internet access to make sure we capture their voice to help shape Casey’s future.
